1. ’uw’ hayulh thu ts’uyximulwut ’uw’ hayulh ni’ s-huy’thusthe’ult kwusulh pulhe’ch thunu ten qwiil’qwul’.
   The is about Ts’uyximulwut, what my mother told about how she gave a potlatch.
2. ’e’ut sq’uq’ip tu’i mustimuhw ’i’ ’utl’ s’amuna’ pulhe’ch.
   The people are gathered at Somena to potlaltch.
3. qu.u.ux mustimuhw mukw’ tun’untsu shtun’ni’s:
   Alot of people are there coming from everywhere:
4. tun’a quw’utsun’, snuneymuhw, mutouliye’, we’ tthu petsun ’i’ sqwxwa’mush m’i tetsul.
   They arrived here from here at Cowichan, Snuneymuxw, Victoria, even the United States and Vancouver.
5. saay’stum’ tthu q’uluts’tun swe’s tthu swayxwi’ shni’s kws tl’aqw’thut-s, ’i’ tl’uw’ ni’ tthu snuhwulh.
   They prepared a curtain for the masked dancers to get dressed behind, and there’s a canoe.  
6. yey’sul’u tthu lhuxlhuxi’lush st’e ’uw’ ’iis wulh saay’ kws kwunut-s kw’ ni’ tse’ s’amusteut tse’.
   Two people are standing and are ready to take what’s going to be gifted. 
7. s’ulhtun ’i’ tthu telu, ’i’ tthu swuqw’a’lh.
   There’s food and money and blankets.
8. ’i’ nilh qux ni’ syaays tthu mustimuhw tthu [ni’] tl’eshun’.
   And it’s a lot of work for the people hosting the potlatch.
9. ni’ kw’in skweyul, xu’athun skeyul, kws sq’uq’ips tthu mustimuhw.
   It’s several days, four days, that the people gather.
10. ’e’ut kwu’elh ’i’ tthu qux mustimuhw ’u tun’inulh xut’ustum’ pelhe’ch.
    And so there are a lot of people there at what’s called a potlatch.
